Specialization in Childhood and Adolescence Psychiatry (CEPIA)

Ministered by Professors of the Department of Psychiatry, UFRGS, and Childhood and Adolescence Psychiatry Service, HCPA.

The coordination is under the responsibility of Dr. Olga Garcia Falceto.

The course, officialized in 1992 as specialization, aims at training professionals capable of responding to the particularities of population pertaining to childhood and adolescence and their relatives.

Enrollment period: December, 15th, 2009 – January, 15th, 2010;

Duration: 2 years, starting in February 2010.

Pre-requisites:

  • Specialist title and/or residency in Psychiatry concluded up to December 31

Necessary documents:

  • Complete curriculum – 1 copy
  • Certificate of conclusion of General Psychiatry
  • 3 presentation letters from Psychiatrists
  • Two 3x4 pictures
  • Enrollment fee: R$ 330.00

Information and enrollment by mail:

Send the necessary documents plus enrollment form and the sum of R$ 330.00 (enrollment) through nominative and crossed check to the Fundação Médica do RS/CEPIA.

The first year of the course develops along with the Residency in Childhood and Adolescence Psychiatry, but with a smaller hourly load (6 hours/day).

Second Year (Course)

  • Childhood and Adolescence Psychotherapy
  • Family Psychotherapy
  • Hospital Pediatric Consulting
  • Review Club

Practical Program

  • In-patient clinic

  • Hosptial Consultancy/ Basic Health Unit
